Agbayewa Memorial School( A.M.S.), an offshoot of Lagos Secondary  Commercial  Academy (L.A.S.C.A.) was founded in 1960 and managed by its Proprietor/Founder, Late High Chief Robert Adewole Agbayewa; The Sasere of Akureland and The Olori Ebiha Of Ido-Ani Kingdom, both in Ondo State: when he was thirty (30) years old.

Lagos Secondary Commercial Academy which birthed A.M.S. ; at its inception was simply called LASCA after its initials by Students, Parents, &Competitor Educational  Institutions in Lagos.

LASCA was initially situated at 1 Shiro Street, Fadeyi - Lagos in 1960 but was subsequently in 1961 relocated to its present location at 5 Olusoji Idowu Street,  Ilupeju, Lagos on completion of what was planned at its permanent location, which Situates in a 2.19 Acres of land that befits a group of schools to eventually emerge as envisioned by the Founder/Proprietor.

LASCA was Professionally managed as a post primary educational institution by High Chief Agbayewa as a School that will offer a Beacon of Hope & Pride to her Students,  who were tutored to Compete with other great Secondary Schools in Lagos State, like Baptist Academy, Gbobi College,  St. Finbars, St. Gregory, amongst others,  to excel academically; in Character and the Sports. No wonder, a decade and a half later in 1976; the School has registered itself as a household name in the minds and mouths of Parents/Guardians who desire qualitative, all round scholarship for their Children and Wards due to the quality of Students Churned out by the School.

Unfortunately,  on the ascension of Power of the military government of General Olusegun Obasanjo as the military head-of- State in 1976 and its unfavourable educational policy of the administration, which was not favourable to the running of private & missionary  Schools; the Lagos State military administrator, Commodore Adekunle Lawal took over all private and missionary Schools Lagos and converted them to public  schools administered by the Lagos State Ministry of Education; LASCA  not being an exception, was subsequently renamed Ilupeju College.

Whoever, at the beginning of the Third Republic political dispensation of office of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Civilian Governor of Lagos state in 1999; the government took the giant step of returning the once forcefully acquired Schools back to their owners to stem the great rot that has become the lots of the Schools.  Thus Ilupeju College was returned back to the Estate of High Chief Agbayewa(in 2001) who has since transited on 16th August 1983; and the School was subsequently renamed Agbayewa Memorial College in 2010 by the Administrators of late Chief R.A. Agbayewa's Estate in honour of the great man of vision, and passionate strategist and in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the School.  Thus Agbayewa Memorial College was born.

To build on the strategic Vision of Late High Chief Agbayewa,  the Administrators of AMC reached a milestone decision to transform the School into a group of Schools, with a view to providing succession; growth, development, and smooth continuity and sustenance of Standards for children from Pre-school through Nursery/Primary to Post-Primary education thereby giving holistic education and at the same time maintaining standards.

To this end, the idea of one-stop educational Institution meant for intellectually-driven Students; well motivated professional and sound academic and non-academic staff backed up by 22nd Century high-technology was nurtured and in this was Agbayewa Memorial Group of Schools- To be named and called Agbayewa Memorial Schools (AMS) en Encapsulated on 2oth September  2021.

AMS which comprises of Creche, and Nursery/Primary  School offering  Montessori  education and a high school that can compete favourably with peers in the 22nd Century sits in the tranquil ambience of 5 Olusoji Idowu Street of High Brow Ilupeju-Lagos.
